About ESNA-CERT...

Your local CERT organization, ESNA-CERT, was formed in the fall of 2004. Promoted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and trained by the NYC Office of Emergency Management and members of the NYPD and FDNY, the Team promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and members of the community. Our goal is to train you, your family and your neighbors in basic emergency response skills. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency capability for our area.

Our Mission:

The ESNA-CERT mission is to inform, educate and train our neighbors on disaster preparedness; assist public safety agencies and local community boards with local events; respond to locally occurring disaster by strictly following CERT protocol and supporting emergency personnel upon their arrival and request, and to assist agencies managing spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site.
